Ti’lomikh

Ti’lomikh is the origin place for the Sacred Salmon Ceremony called for by the Takelma culture hero: Dal Dal, the Dragonfly.  Here’s the story, based on what Grandma Aggie’s great aunt told the anthropologist.
101 years after this story was told by Frances Johnson, in 2017 her grand-niece brought the salmon ceremony back to Ti’lomikh on the Rogue River near Gold Hill.

Thus, it became the main village of the Takelma people in their land along the Rogue River.  Part of the magic of its importance is the fact thatWhen Grandm Aggie revived the Sacred Salmon Ceremony at Ti’lomikh in 2017, this reactivated the spiritual energy that has been there since the beginning.
